Sadie loves Halloween. She’s convinced that every princess and superhero is at the front door to pat her on the head and tell her how cute she is. The best part is the moment we close the door, she sits at attention until the sound of the next “Trick-or-Treat” comes from the other side.
Our Little Pumpkin is also a fan of HomeGoods. She loves digging through my shopping bags for treats and toys. Did you know HomeGoods carries the cutest pet costumes?
These two cuties are Susan’s cheerleader, Keuka, and Joan’s skeleton, Duke.
Thanks to our great customers Whitney and Carolyn for sharing pics of their favorite costumed pups.
Here are a few things to keep in mind to keep your canine friend safe and happy during All Hallows’ Eve:
1. Keep all chocolate candy safely out of reach.
2. Keep decorations, especially candles, away from children and pets.
3. Know your pet’s personality. If you have a pup who bolts or isn’t friendly, find a safe spot in your home with food and water to keep them out of danger.
4. If you dress up your pet, make sure the costume is pet safe — don’t force it if your pet is unhappy.
5. Make sure your pet’s identification is up to date.
3-Ingredient Pumpkin Puppy Treats
Ingredients:
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup pumpkin purée
1 3/4 cups flour
Mix peanut butter and pumpkin together in a mixing bowl until well-blended. Add flour slowly until dough is no longer sticky and a good texture for rolling and using cookie cutters.
Roll dough between two sheets of wax or parchment paper. Cut into desired shapes and bake on a greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 8–10 minutes, or until desired crispness.
Sadie was very attentive while I made her treats — she loves pumpkin and peanut butter!
And she loves her treats. Yay!
Have fun and enjoy a Howling Good Halloween!
